The locomotive at the Jasenovac Death Camp in Croatia is located some 59 miles (95 km) from the capital city of Zagreb. Built in 1922 at the railway wagon factory in Düsseldorf, Germany, the locomotive was used by the pro-Nazi Croatian Ustasha government for deporting concentration camp prisoners. The locomotive can be found at the former Ustasha Camp III (Brickworks) in Jasenovac, Croatia, on the spot where transports of prisoners — Jewish, Roma and Serbians came to a halt. “Little will change however without you as ordinary citizens do your part — refusing to pay bribes, calling out waste, corruption and election irregularities, letting your voice be heard, and, most importantly, voting to hold your leaders accountable.” — Eric Nelson, U.S. Ambassador to Bosnia-Herzegovina

In a published report, a high-ranking Nazi official was quoted describing the brutality in Jasenovac death camp in Sisak County, Croatia — the Auschwitz of the Balkans: “General Edmund von Horstenau, Hitler’s envoy in the capital city of Zagreb, called the place the epitome of horror.”
